Course contents : General presentation of Assyria in the frame of the Mesopotamian civilisation ; presentation of the different particularities of the Assyrian civilisation through the material remains.
Course objective : To go deeper in the study of the ancient Near Eastern art and archaeology by analysing a specific subject. The subject in 2006-2007 will be "Assyrian civilisation during the IId and Ist Millennia BC".
Prerequisites : To have attended the general lecture during the 1st year of study entitled "History of art and archaeology : ancient Near East".
Workshops : None.
Organization : 60 h during the 1st and 2d quadrimestres.
Room S100 (Bât. A4), Wednesday 11 AM - 1 PM.
Written notes : There will be no lecture notes.
Assessment : Oral examination which consists in checking the knowledge and the capacity of analysis and synthesis.
