Course contents : The following topics are exposed: the economic role and history of logistics, supply chain management, the logistics challenges, the concept of integrated logistics, the total logistics cost, global logistics, customer service (CRM), order management, logistics information systems (ERP...), warehousing, purchasing and (e)-procurement, material management (MRP, DRP), inventory management and financial control, distribution and channels, JIT, transportation and its technical and economical features.
Course objective : This lecture intends to supply some tools of operational ans strategic logistics in an integrated vision in order to build your general culture in this field and to solve current problems. The engineers in management will take the opportunity of presenting groups' lectures.
Prerequisites : basic knowledge in marketing and management
Workshops : Students involvement by group in lectures
Organization : The course presents 30h of ex cathedra lectures given by the teacher and groups of selected students.
Written notes : Syllabus + documents (English & French)
Assessment : The assessment is done through a final written examination with 2 parts: general culture assessment + a small case study to solve. The oral presentation by team will be a part of the final assessment. The examination is made with opened documentation. The responses should be in French, except special arrangement.
