Course contents : This course deals with every important aspect of Dutch and Flemish society and civilization (institutions, political parties, media, education, religion, arts, cultural life etc.) but also with the history and the physical, economic and social geography of the Netherlands and Flanders.
Prerequisites : Good understanding of spoken and written Dutch.
Organization : Time span: 30 hours in the first semester. (2 hours per week)

Room and time: A2 building.
Written notes : Course notes will be available through the website of the Dutch section: http://www.nl.ulg.ac.be

Recommended reading: Dutch and Flemish newspapers and weeklies.
Assessment : Oral exam in January.
