| Course contents :
| The course has two parts. The first looks at general social security systems, on the one hand dealing with salaried workers and self-employed workers on the other. The systems are looked from the perspective of obligations to subjugated workers (general fields of application, payment contributions, penalties). The study of this area allows for deeper knowledge of certain fundamental aspects of social law, such as employment contracts and earnings).
The second part of the course, the longest, studies employment risks and more particularly the prevention of workplace accidents and redress. Particular attention is paid to the combination of legislation in this area with other redress and compensation procedures, including common law and civic responsibility, in order to provide ample information on the compensation for physical injuries incurred by paid workers. | |

| Course objective :
| The objective of the course is to lead the student to look at various fields of Belgian law, in terms of employment law as well as social security, by making apparent existing links between the different subjects studied. In this way the student will acquire better knowledge of social law with a view to preparing for the realities of a professional career. | |
