Course contents : The cours deals with issues in matrimonial property law that are related to notarial practice. It is also intended for future lawyers.
It takes the 2e licence course further, notably through examples from the case law.
The following issues are discussed: the statutory rules (community principle); the matrimonial contract; the procedure for the modification of the matrimonial contract; the division of the community goods; the separation principle.
Course objective : The course's obejctives are twofold: a. to give future practicioners elements on which to choose the best matrimonial property law or the best change in their matrimonial contract for their cli-ents; b. to prompt a strict application of matrimonial law so that the rights of each spouse is best defended.
Students are expected to participate actively.

All the published codes or their photocopies are allowed, but annotations are forbidden except underlining.
Assessment : Students pick a question and the examiner can ask several subquestions which are not neces-sarily related to the first question.
Students choose whether they take their oral examination in January or June.
