| Course contents : | The main organic functions (alcane, alkene, alkyne, alcohol, aromatic, halogenoalcane, amine, carboxylic acids and derivatives,...) will be first discussed in terms of molecular structure, electronic characteristics and reactivity. The related organic reactions will then be reported, as well as the important concept of the stereochemistry. All these concepts will be illustrated by examples of organic materials encountered in the day life. | ||||||||

| Course objective : | The course aims at introducing the fundamentals in organic chemistry. This strategy rests on the functional-group approach with concrete examples encountered in the day life. | ||||||||

| Prerequisites : | Basic knowledge in chemistry. | ||||||||

| Workshops : | Participation to the praticals is mandatory | ||||||||

| Organization : | Lectures with powerpoint projection will be given during the second semester. | ||||||||
