| Course contents : | Principels of laboratory techniques applied to the main components of the biological fluids, organization of the clinical laboratories, quality control, as well as introduction to results interpretation constitute the first part of the course. The second part consists of a short outline of the techniques of molecular biology and their application to medical diagnosis. In the last part, some pathologies chosen among most frequent in human medicine (diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cancer) are rewiewed with special attention to the primary molecular lesions which cause them. | ||||||||

| Course objective : | To open horizons in the field of human and pathological biochemistry, to introduce the main tests perfromed in the clinical laboratories and to discuss their interest in clinical practice. | ||||||||

| Prerequisites : | General biochemistry, metabolic biochemistry. | ||||||||

| Workshops : | Visit of the laboratories of the university hospital. | ||||||||

| Organization : | Interactive course with the students, given to the 2nd four-month period. | ||||||||
