Course contents : Surface characterization : SIMS, ESCA, AES. Chimisorption. Theory. Qualitative and quantitative analysis. Applications. Porous material texture. Parameters describing the catalyst texture. Analysis of physical adsorption-desorption isotherms. Use of the mercury penetration technique.
Course objective : Notions necessary to study heterogeneous catalysis and porous materials.
Prerequisites : Bachelor in Engineering or in Chemistry.
Workshops : No workshop.
Organization : First semester.
Written notes : Documents available at the first lesson.
Assessment : Oral examination but the student has at least one hour for preparation.
