Duration :20h Th
Credits/ECTS :
2nd year of Master's degree in oceanography, in-depth approach2
Holder(s) :Patrick Dauby, Anne Mouchet
Course contents : The course first deals about the origin of the different chemical elements, of the solar system, of the earth planet, its atmosphere, oceans and life.
The large reservoirs (atmosphere, lithospere, biosphere, hydrosphere) are then described, together with the main processes prevailing in their constitution.
Finally, the global biogeochemical cycles of the major chemical elements entering the organic matter (C, H, O, N, S, P) are discussed.
Course objective : To understand the origin and evolution of the main biogeochemical processes that govern the "earth" system.
Prerequisites : A correct knowledge in biology and chemistry
Workshops : none
Organization : Four afternoons.
To be decided in concert with the students with respect to their own programme.
Assessment : based on a personal report about a subject selected during the first lesson.
