Appreciation of domestic animals

Course contents : The students will be able to:

  • estimate the age of horses and cattle, using morphological and particularly dental characteristics;
  • complete the identification of a horse;
  • assess the main skills and defects of an animal according to its use by man.
Course objective : To apply the theoretical concepts acquired in the former study year ("Appreciation of domestic animals", third "candidature"),
Prerequisites : Knowledge of the following subjects:

  • "Appreciation of domestic animals"
  • "Ethnography"
Workshops : Only with small groups af students

Written notes : Multimedia
Assessment : The students need to know to estimate the age of horses and cattle, to complete the identification of a horse using official standards, and to locate eventual morphological defects on an animal.
