Sociology of Democratic Processes

Course objective : Problem of democratic processes is seen each year through the study of a definite thematic. During the academic year 2004-2005, it will be social capital theory through the work of Robert Putnam.
Prerequisites : Being able to read sociological literature in english
Organization : Students are supposed to read a part of a book and to prepare a lecture on their reading. The teacher or an assistant helps preparing the lecture.

Assessment : There is no "exmination" but a continuing evaluation based on the quality of the lectures and on interventions during the seminar
