Evolution of the Sociological Thought (partim)

Course contents : The course is organised in 2 parts.
The 1st part is focused on classic sociology and especially Machiavelli, Montesquieu, Tocqueville and Weber.
The 2nd part, about contemporary sociology is seen in "Sociologie des organisations et des professions" (which studies the strategic analysis of Crozier).
Course objective : Clear up the structure of sociological reasoning with help of some famous works of the sociological tradition.
The 2 levels of reasoning will be:
-on the analytic level, the central concepts of interest, value and structure.
-on the nominal level, the great theories of democracy, bureaucracy and religion.

Workshops : none
Organization : Discussions based on chapters read beforehand by the students.
