| Course contents : | The study of the social justice can take on various forms and require different attack angles. There are most certainly many theoretical orientations. The purpose of the course is to approach some orientation among the most significant to build a sociological approach of the sense of justice: the debate liberals versus communautarians will constitute a point of departure, but a privileged attention will be given to the appreciation of certain sociological contributions noticed in the domain. The common meaning of justice, such is the essential concern of the sociology of justice. Starting with works of L. Boltanski and L. Thévenot, the course will try to establish the stakes in the question of the social justice in the contemporary societies. By relying on empirical works, the course aims on one hand at giving an outline onto the way the contemporary societies handle the problems of distributive justice, solidarity and, on the other hand, at analyzing situations of injustice where social, individual or collective actors, consider themselves as offended, discredited, humbled, etc. | ||

| Organization : | Interactive teaching. Oral presentation and discussions about concrete problems of justice. The students will be urged to collect "cases" of injustice stemming from the everyday life and to handle them with help of the theories of justice. | ||
