Physics and mathematics for veterinary medicine

Course contents : Physics for first-year university students in life sciences : particle mechanics, solid mechanics, fluid mechanics, thermal physics, electricity and magnetisme, mechanical and electromagnetic waves, optics, quantum physics, nuclear physics.
Course objective : Introduction to physics for life sciences and learning of the scientific method.
Prerequisites : Basic mathematics (algebra, analyse, elements of geometry and trigonometry).
Workshops : All given in french. See the french version of this text.
Organization : Two lectures (two hours) per week from septembre to april-may.
Written notes : Textbook : "Physique" par Kane et Sternheim, french edition revised for 2004 by M. Hoebeke, P. Ghosez et G. Llabrès. The book is edited by DUNOD.

Exercice, solutions and laboratory manuals are also available at Edition de l'ULg (Liège, Belgium).
