Physical foundations of Medical Imaging

Course contents : Exploring the electromagnetic spectrum from the shortest to the longest wavelengths the lectures deal with nuclear imaging, RX imaging, endoscopy, thermography and RMI. Acoustic wave and echography are the next subject. The lectures end with the digital image and a few radioprotection notions.
Course objective : The aim is to prepapre the student to more specialized lectures in medical imaging.
Prerequisites : Physics course for first-year university students in life sciences (19 ECTS).
Workshops : None
Organization : One lecture (2 hours) per week from september to december.
Written notes : IN FRENCH. Available from InterCopy (Sart-Tilman, Liège, Belgium).
Unchanged since 2003-2004.
