| 10 chapters: symmetries in Quantum Mechanics, elements of group theory for physicists, introduction to the representation theory, the permutation group, general theory of Lie groups, the orthogonal group, the Lorentz group, unitary groups and their applications to particle physics, elements of gauge groups, applications to hadron spectroscopy | |

| 1. To give an introduction on groups and their representations useful for physicists 2. To present the basic symmetries of Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Field Theory 3. To show how the group theory is applied to physics and discuss research perspectives | |
