Course contents : The first integrated physiopathology exercises will be organized at the end of Term 6. Problem-solving exercises will require students to use overall basic notions on several systems presented in previous PSL sessions (Terms 3-6).
Course objective : Using knowledge on metabolism, water regulation, cardiovascular, renal, respiratory, endocrine and nervous aspects to develop observable physiopathological patterns in common medical distress situations.
Prerequisites : All physiological, biochemical, anatomical, histological and neuroanatomical aspects.
Workshops : Anatomy
Demonstrations with anatomical parts and corpses, then dissections done by groups of students. The dissection hall is located on the ground floor in the Institute of Anatomy, rue de Pitteurs 20 in Liège. Equipment: dissection kit, apron.
Histology
5 microscopy sessions. The hall is located in the Institute of Anatomy – 2nd floor – grande salle de TP (great practical hall). Students also have the opportunity of using the VOLUNTARY REVISION system, which allows them to get commented slides, sections and reference books all year round – including during exam periods – in similar conditions to Term 3.
Physiology
Schedule: see schedule for Term 4 – Place: Tour 3, Level -1
Organization : Introduction course, practicals, 4 PSL sessions and a revision session.
Written notes : To be developed by students based on their PSL notes and listed reference books:
