Course contents : Introduction to meteorology dedicated to first year students in oceanography.
General introduction : orders of magnitude, characteristic lengths and times.
Application to thermostatics. Radiation and energetic balance. Introduction to air dynamics. Processes of saturation and condensation. Large scale circulation.
Course objective : Provide to students a physical approach of processes located at and near the air-sea interface.
Prerequisites : Mathematics, physics and chemistry at a level of batchelor of sciences (Science and Applied Science Faculty)
Workshops : Practical exercices at the Calvi oceanographic station.
Organization : 6 lectures of 2hours 30min.
Written notes : Written lectures notes
Assessment : Written open book exam.
