| Course contents :
| Partim "Contamination of the food chain". The strategy used for the control of residues and contaminents in foodstuffs of animal origin is described and discussed. Recent crises are described concerning dioxins, antibiotics and growth promoters (hormones, ...) used in animal production.
Partim "Industrial pollution": The various sources (and impacts on ecosystems) of some macropollutants as well as heavy metals, pesticides and organochlorine compouds are described.
| | | |
| Course objective :
| Partim "Contamination of the food chain" (G. Maghuin-Rogister): students are confronted to problems linked to the presence of residues and contaminants in food of animal origin in their regulatory, toxicological and analytical aspects. | |
| | | |
| Prerequisites :
| Partim "Contamination of the food chain": basic knowledges in analytical chemistry and physicochemistry (chromatography, mass spectrometry, immunoassays) and in biochemistry (bachelor level).
Partim "Industrial pollution": no particular prerequisite.
| | | |
| Organization :
| Partim "Pollution of the food chain" : 7h30 of lectures to be fixed with students
Partim "Industrial pollution" : 7h30 of lectures to be fixed with students
