Course contents : Cell architecture and composition
Biosynthesis and assembly of the cell envelopes
Cell growth
Nutrition
Metabolism
Adaptation
Growth control
Antibiotics
Course objective : The goal is to discover the organization, the development and the means bacteria use to obtain energy and adapt to the environment .
Prerequisites : Basic knowledge in biochemistry would be helpful
Workshops : Initiation to the handling and the study of bacteria
Organization : 90 minutes lectures during the 1st quadrimester.
Pratical courses are given during 4 consecutive afternoons
Written notes : Notes are sold by the students of the "Cercle de Biologie".
French and english microbiology books are recommended.
Assessment : The type of the examination is chosen by the students.
The examination is usally presented at the end of the 1st quadrimester.
