MATH0235-1

Homological algebra and sheaf theory

Duration :30h Th, 10h Pr
Credits/ECTS :
1st "licence" in mathematical sciences6,5
Holder(s) :Jean‑Pierre Schneiders
Course contents : This course si mainly for DEA students. It begins by presenting the classic and modern homological algebra and continues with the study of the theory of sheaves. By combining these two tools, it is then possible to deal with various problems of algebraic topology (topological dimension, Poincaré duality, de Rham's theorems, Jordan's theorem, ...).
Course objective : To develop the basic tools needed to begin a research work in modern algebraic topology, geometry or analysis.
Prerequisites : Good knowledge of basic algebra and topology.
Organization : To be fixed with the students.
Written notes : Reference texts are pointed out at the beginning of the course.
Assessment : To be fixed with the students.
