Course contents : The course covers the following topics
  • Matrix algebra : determinant, inverse matrix, normal, hermitian, unitary matrices...
  • Linear algebra : linear application, rank, basis, linear independence, linear systems, eigenvalues, eigenvectors, quadratic forms,...
  • Discrete mathematics : mathematical induction, congruence, difference equations, graph theory...
Course objective : Mastery of the matricial formulation of mathematical problems and introduction to discrete mathematics issues.
Prerequisites : Algebra of real and complex numbers
Organization : Lectures : 30 hours - Exercices : 20 hours
First and second quadrimestres
Written notes : Algèbre, E.J.M. DELHEZ (2 volumes). Lecture notes distributed by the AEES.
Assessment : Written examination in January. A note higher or equal to 12/20 gives an exemption for the final examination. Notes less than 12/20 are discarded.

Written (exercices) examination in May/June.

Written examination in August/September (retakes).
