Course contents : Descriptive Statistics. Issues of Probability theory, especially those used in modern Statistics. Introduction to Stochastic processes and Queueing theory. Inductive Statistics. Introduction to Information theory.
Course objective : Students will be able to understand present-day applications of Probability and Statistics. This course also provides pointers to more advanced literature so that they will be able to find material to deal with more sophisticated problems in their career.
Prerequisites : Calculus courses given to Bachelors.
Workshops : As the Instructors are shared with the Calculus Professor, Practical works are teached before the Theory sessions.
Organization : 15h of Theory lessons teached by the Professor + 15h of Practical works teached by 6 Instructors in smaller groups for better follow-up - 2nd semester 15h + 15h.
