LOCO0620-2

Multidisciplinary approach to the musculoskeletal system applied to physical education (partim I)

Duration :35h Th, 25h Pr
Credits/ECTS :
2nd year of a Bachelor's degree in motricity sciences6
2nd "candidature" in physical education6
Holder(s) :Marguerite Foidart‑Dessalle, Philippe Gillet
Course contents : 1. Osseous, osteoarticular and muscular anatomy of upper and lower limbs.

Three subjects are studied in these domains:

- osteology, which studies the in-depth study of bones, and, in particular the relation between form and function

- arthrology, or study of articulations, with a focus on the relation between form and function, as well as the structures of articulary stabilization

- myology, or the study of muscles, their form, their insertions, and their action.

2. Analyses of movements and articulary constraints of the limbs including the muscular and articulary testing.

In coordination with the anatomy course, this course analyses the movements of articulations and focuses on range of motion and muscular testing. It analyses the walk. It studies the constraints undergone by the various articulations.
Course objective : 1. Reinforce the knowledge of anatomy and of movements of upper and lower limbs.

2. Provoke a reflection on the mechanisms and safety of athletic movements.
Prerequisites : 1. Introduction to human anatomy (ANAT0110-2), second semester course of the degree in kinesitherapy, réadaptation et d’éducation physique with M. BONNET.

2. Experimental preparatory physics in kinesitherapy and in physical education including a mathematical introduction to experimental sciences (PHYS0510-5) (1st candidature)

3. Biomechanics (partim I: LOCO0520-1) applied to human movement (2nd candidature - semester 3).
Workshops : Biomechanics: 15 hours
Organization : - Lectures
- Group assignments
- Summary sessions
Written notes : Course notes with illustrations available at INTERCOPY.

The slides used in the Anatomy course will be available in print and on CD-ROM (powerpoint). This is exam material.
