Course contents : Deepening the students's konwledge of the ancient Greek language. Questions of ancient Greek grammar, vocabulary, and stylistics are considered by means of further pratice (translation from Greek to French, Greek prose composition) and private reading of 5th-4th century prose-writings.
Advanced seminar in ancient Greek philology, further attention being given to the translation of chosen excerpts either in the whole ancient Greek literature or focussing on one author's writings in turn.
Course objective : Improving the students' knowledge of the ancient Greek language
Prerequisites : Satisfying knowledge of the ancient Greek language
Organization : 30 h (theory), 30 h (practice)
1st and 2nd quadrimesters.
