Course contents : This course is designed to meet the future professional needs of business students and consists of theme-based units( giving a presentation, business organisation, presenting and discussing graphs and figures, taking notes and discussing problems in meetings, negotiating, exchanging arrangements and discussing problems over the phone, writing a report, applying for a job).

This course offers a wide range of topic-related vocabulary activities as well as writing and reading practice. Great emphasis is put on oral practice as students will have the opportunity to practice communication skills through a whole series of interactive tasks and case studies.
Course objective : Allowing students to:

  • increase their general and business vocabulary.
  • express themselves fluently and accurately about complex subjects and in professional situations that are specific to the business world.
  • write clear and well-structured business reports, letters, graph descriptions, ... using accurate and correct language.
Prerequisites : This is an advanced level business course. Students are expected to have completed level 1, 2 and 3 taught in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of the bachelor's degree.
Organization : This 60-hour course is taught two hours every week. Students are required to prepare the different tasks and exercises from the course book every week. Since the course is largely based on team work, regular attendance and active participation are essential.

The 90-hour course includes one hour of listening comprehension weekly.

Assessment : 1. Continuous assessment: (4/20)

Students will be evaluated on tasks throughout the year. They are required to give a presentation counting for 2 points and to write a report counting for 2 points.

3. Oral exam:

(for the 60-hour course = 8/20)

(for the 90-hour course = 6/20)

4. Written exam:

(for the 60-hour course = 8/20)

(for the 90-hour course = 6/20)
