- Introduction to informatics
- Internet - Word - Excel
- Electronic mailing
- Hospital Information Systems (HIS)
- Laboratory Information Systems (LIS)
- Radiology Information Systems (RIS)
- Security and confidentiality issues
Course objective : Give students an overwiew of modern information and communication technology (ICT), in particular hospital information systems. The student should also be able to use common software packages which will be useful in preparing his/her thesis. Literature search is also an essential working tool.
Prerequisites : Some basic knowledge of hardware and software.
Workshops : None
Organization : There will be 5 courses of 3 hours shared with Mrs Françoise Pasleau, head of the Library of the Faculty of Medicine, and M. Eddy Husson, computer specialist.
Written notes : Students will receive copies of the slides shown during the course and additional material regarding hospital information systems.
