Course contents : Internet completely changes the way companies express their information needs, and design and monitor systems aimed at satisfying them. The goal of this advanced seminar is to help students better understand the challenges and opportunities associated with the development of efficient information systems, covering both the micro and macro dimensions of the economic environment. Students are invited to develop their own information system on the internet and to test its validity in a simulated investment environment (internet-based investment laboratory).
Course objective : Key components of an internet-based information system. Strengths and weaknesses of technology providers.
Organization : Exposés. Développement d'un système d'information sur internet. Simulation de gestion et d'investissement.
Written notes : Lectures, internet-based case analysis, online investment laboratory
List of readings, articles and chapters.
Reference internet sites.
Assessment : Class contribution. Individual assignments. Investment laboratory performance.
