Course contents :
  • the cardiovascular system
  • the digestive tract
  • the digestive glands: the liver and the pancreas
  • the urinary system
  • the respiratory system
  • the skeletal, muscular and articular systems
  • the integumentary system
Course objective : The objectives are to understand how the basic tissues are associated and establish functional relations into organs and to establish relations between the stucture and the function at the cellular and tissular levels.
Prerequisites : General histology
Workshops :
  • During the practical lessons the students observe microscopic slides in order to identify organs and tissues. The practical lessons take place in the rooms of practical lessons of the Institut d'Anatomie, rue de Pitteurs, 20, 4020 Liège.
  • The objectives of the seminars are to establish links between different lectures: students have to analyse a scientific paper and to answer questions relative to this paper.
Organization : Lecture given during the S4 for the 2d candidature in Dental Science and for the 2d candidature in Biomedical Sciences (4 hours per week during 6 weeks)

CD-ROM with the slides of the lectures available for the students
Assessment : Written evaluation: open questions about practical and theoretic notions
