| Duration : | 20h Pr | |
| | | |
| Credits/ECTS : |
| |
| | | |
| Holder(s) : | Eric Pirard | |
| | | |
| | | |
| Course contents :
| Project dedicated to processing data from a real geo-environmental case study (soil geochemistry, size/shape distribution of sediments, heavy metal distrbutions in waste materials,...) Matlab programming of statistical procedures. | |
| | | |
| Course objective :
| Use of Matlab programming tools to handle geo-environmental data Graphical display, analysis and statistical inference of uni; bi and multivariate data. | |
| | | |
| Prerequisites :
| This project is linked to GEOL0048-1 Statistical analysis of geological data(15TH 15PR) | |
| | | |
| Organization :
| Each student receives an individual project description at least 15 days (holidays not included) before the deadline for the written report. | |
| | | |
| Written notes :
| A Matlab introduction course is available through the portal (MyULg) as well as annotated case studies. | |
| | | |
| Assessment :
| Each student has to present a written report including : the uni-;bi- and multivariate analysis of the dataset he received.
The evaluation will be based on : - the quality and exactness of the results - the quality of the comments and deductions - the structure of his report - the quality of its presentation and writing - the clear understanding of the underlying theoretical concepts. | |
