Course objective : 1) Familiarizing the student with the countryside and its recent evolutions

2) Connecting the biophysical features, the land property and the land use in rural analysis

3) Articulating the local and regional constrains with the international constrains

4) Using different kinds of sources and methods (cartography, statistical data, interviews, remote sensing,etc)

5) Realising a local diagnostic, including the proposition of ways of development for a rural areas.
Prerequisites : Notion of statistics, biology, pedology and economy

Organization : Lectures on Monday (1.30 pm-5 pm) during the first quarter (Institute of geography B11).
