General and molecular genetics

Course contents : The first chapter is a theoretical introduction to the practical courses. The second chapter describes mobile genetic elements in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The third and the fourth chapters describe expression regulation in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. The fifth chapter is devoted to developmental genetics in drosophila. The last chapter concerns genetics and molecular biology of organelles (chloroplasts and mitochondria).
Course objective : Fundamentals of molecular genetics in prokaryotes and eukaryotes
Workshops : gene cloning in E. coli and nuclear transformation of the unicellular green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii
Written notes : Syllabus and Power Point slides.
