Course contents : GCIV0169-1 : Construction process for timber constructions
First, the main principles that influence the durability of timber construction are reminded: choice of the species, chemical protection, but above all constructive protection through appropriate design and good execution including at the detail level. A series of practical applications are showed where bad design or execution has had severe consequences. Finaly, the question is illustrated for the case of timber bridges.

Execution Processes for Non-Metallic Material Construction

Basic characteristics of materials. Limit conditions of use.

Execution Processes for Wood Construction

This course is organised in the frame of the courses GCIV0171-1 and GCIV1010-1.

Integrated Management of Construction Site Quality and Compliance

Application Workshops on Construction Execution Processes

The students are presented some real problems that occur on site and have to solve them with the help of the teachers and of some professionals of the industry.
Course objective :

Execution Processes for Non-Metallic Material Construction

Contact of the students with the real problems of design and use

Application Workshops on Construction Execution Processes

Solving some problems in buildings and civil engineering due to errors in the conception, in the realisation or in the choice of materials. Applying exceptionnel construction techniques.
Prerequisites :

Execution Processes for Non-Metallic Material Construction

building materials and civil engieering techniques

Application Workshops on Construction Execution Processes
