Natural porous and fissured media, REV, groundwater flow, discussion of the calculation assumptions, examples of computation for excavation works, anisotropy and heterogeneity influences; typical cases.

Introduction à la mécanique des roches et au dimensionnement d'ouvrages géotechniques dans les massifs rocheux.

Groundwater Modelling Around Underground Works

Natural porous and fissured media, REV, groundwater flow; discussion of the computation assumptions; examples of groundwater flow around slurry walls, injected media; influence of the heterogeneity, anisotropy; typical case-studies.
Course objective :

Principes de base, détermination des caractéristiques mécaniques des masses rocheuses, méthodes d'essais, modèles de comportement, stabilité des cavités, méthode de calcul de stabilité, soutènement provisoires et définitifs, courbes caractéristiques, méthode convergence confinement, méthodes de creusement, etc...

Etudier, concevoir, pré-dimensionner la partie géotechnique d'un projet de génie civil

Computation, simulation and design of infrastructure works in relation with groundwater flows: simulation of different cases in relation with tunnels, dams, public works, ...
