Course contents : Classification of building materials according to structure, composition, porosity, etc.. General characteristics (structure, composition, rheomechanical properties). Materials with hydrocarbon or polymeric binders. Materials with hydraulic binders. Other materials such as wood, ceramics, or glass.
Course objective : Provide students with the information they need to select construction materials in accordance with its ability to stand the kind of challenges it will have to bear given the use it will serve.
Workshops : - Laboratory experiments: about ten tests on bitumen, plastics and various composite materials.
- Development of lab results.
