Course contents : Vertical structure of the atmosphere, its dynamics and thermodynamics.Turbulence
Weather formation, Introduction to turbulent fluxes at the air-sea interface.
Course objective : Introduction to physical processes playing an important role in the atmosphere and at the air-sea interface.
Prerequisites : This course is mainly dedicated to students in the last year of batchelor in physics who have the intention to follow further studies in oceanography or geophysics.
Organization : 15 lectures of 2 hours
Written notes : Written lectures notes.
Reference book: Atmospheric Science; J. Wallace and P. Hobbs, Academic Press.
Assessment : One written open book exam on the dynamics of the atmosphere.
One written open book exam on the air-sea interactions.
