Course contents : Partim 1: Dynamics of the lower layers of the atmosphere.
Variability of meteorological parameters. Radiative processes. Applications to thermostatics. General geophysical fluid equations. Theory of the general circulation. Saturation and condensation processes. Atmospheric circulation at large and synoptic scales.
Partim 2: Physical processes at the air-sea interface. Radiative processes at the interface and oceanic absorption of light in the ocean. Properties and thermodynamics of the sea water and of the interface. Boundary layers. Turbulent fluxes at the interfaces.
Course objective : Analysis and study of physical processes playing an important role in the atmosphere and at the air-sea interface.
Prerequisites : Thermodynamics, applied mathematics and fluid dynamics at a level of batchelor of science with a major in physics and mechanics.
Workshops : 15 hours of exercices included in the oral lectures
Organization : 15 lectures of 3 hours
