An introduction to Environmental Law
Principles of environmental law (International, European and National Law)
Water, air, nature conservation (Natura 2000)
Planning and authorisations
Integrated protection pollution control directive (IPPC), Seveso), waste (basics)
Access to justice, right to information, participation (Aarhus convention)

This is an introduction to the diversity of the environmental philosophies and sociologies.

Introcduction to basic concepts of political science. Examples from environmental policies.
Course objective :

The course is composed of three parts : a) an historical perspective of the western environmental thoughts; b) the different ways sociology treat the environmental situations and c) a presentation of the approaches and case studies developped by the Seed research teams (ULg).
