Course contents : Contents: introduction, multimedia signals (wave, image, video, digitization), signals and telecommunications systems, information theory (entropy, basic principles of compression, audio compression, image and video), continuous wave modulation (amplitude modulation, angular modulation), digital baseband transmission, digital modulation and modems, coding, transmission support (line transmission, optical fiber, free space propagation), introduction to the OSI model (connection layer), main principles of the GSM network.
Course objective : basic understanding of telecommunications systems and multimedia signals.

Workshops : exercices lectures
Organization : This course takes place during the second semester.
