Holder(s) :Philippe Vanderbemden
Course contents : Preliminaries: terminology and instrument specifications, passive components, basic interfacing circuits, voltmeter and ammeter circuits, Null methods, Wheatstone bridge, operational amplifier measurement circuits, A/D converters, measurements in multi-phase circuits, interference problems and interference rejection, dynamical instruments, oscilloscope, digital multimeters, data acquisition systems and I/O interfaces.
Course objective : The aims of this course are to:
- understand the theoretical and practical considerations involved in electrical measurement systems and methods;
- develop practical skills as well as the ability to conduct and evaluate electrical measurement experiments;
- appreciate the various sources of measurement errors and understand how to minimize them in order to make successful electrical measurements.
Prerequisites : The "Circuits électriques" course (ELEC0053-1) should be attended the same year (if not, previously).
Workshops : Practical courses involve laboratory experiments (6 sessions) and exercises (3 sessions).
Organization : Theoretical lectures (30 hours): 1st semester
Practical courses (30 hours) : 2nd semester
Written notes : The syllabuses are available at the "Centrale des cours de l'AEES"
Assessment : Throughout the year : written tests during laboratory sessions

End of the year (May-June) : written exam + oral exam
