Course contents : Economics and the Economy

Introduction to Microeconomics:
Consumer Choice and Demand; Firm behaviour, Costs and Production; Perfect Competition; Pure Monopoly, Market Structure and Imperfect Competition.

Introduction to Macroeconomics:
National Income Accounting (principles); The Determination of National Income; Aggregate Demand and Fiscal Policy; Money and Modern Banking; Central Banking and the Monetary System; Unemployement; Inflation; Basic Open Economy Macroeconomics.
Course objective : Towards a better understanding of Economics
Workshops : With a Teaching Assistant
Organization : 2nd quadrimester (2 hours 30 a week) + exercices (4x 2hours)
Written notes : Syllabus handed over to students
Assessment : Written exam
