Course contents : An overview of different criminal proceedings systems is given by studying questions as the role of the public prosecutor, the rules of independance of the prosecutor and the judge, the role of the parties, the basic principles of criminal proceedings in different countries.
The objective of this course is to teach the students that the balance between the interests of the society on the one hand and the individual who is prosecuted on the other hand can be much different according to history, culture, political regime, etc.
