| As an introduction course to criminal law, this course situates criminal law in the historical, social and juridical sphere. | |

| Course objective :
| Following themes are dealt with : - the historical development of criminal law and its philosophy ; - the sources of criminal law ; - the basic principles of criminal law ; - the application of criminal law in time, space and towards the person ; - the crime : the constitutive elements, the classification ; - the punishable attempt and the punishable participation ; - the punishment. | |

| Students have a book, which is available to Faculty of Law's Legal Editions. This book is subjected to regular updates, in order to be as near as possible of the current events.
Students have to acquire by themselves an exemplary of the Penal Code. | |
