 | Medical Chemistry (including Clinical Enzymology)

| |
|
| |
| Duration : | 30h Th, 10h Pr | |
| | | |
| Credits/ECTS : |
| |
| | | |
| Holder(s) : | Jean‑Paul Chapelle | |
| | | |
| | | |
| Course contents :
| The first part of the course is devoted to the preanalytic phase, the analytical techniques and the instrumentation, the quality control and the interpretation of the results. The second part treats principal classes of components proportioned with the laboratory (inorganic elements, small organic molecules, macromolecules, enzymes,...), as well as exploration of the various functions (function renal, hepatic, thyroid,...). The importance given to the various chapters is modulated according to the matter seen during human Biochimie and of pathological Biochemistry. | |
| | | |
| Course objective :
| To give information on the biochemical compounds proportioned in the mileux biological ones by the Medical chemistry laboratories, on the interest of their exploration in human pathology and on the analytical techniques implemented to measure their concentrations. | |
| | | |
| Prerequisites :
| Human biochemistry, general Principles of pathological Biochemistry, Elements of analytical Chemistry | |
| | | |
| Workshops :
| Type: Handling + demonstrations Schedule: 3 to 4 meetings (afternoon) in the 2nd six-month period
Place: Institute of Pharmacy for the practical part, medical chemistry laboratory for the demonstrations
Material: equipment - reagents Importance in the evaluation: the student must obtain at least half of the points | |
| | | |
| Organization :
| Weekly schedule: 2h per week in the 2nd six-month period Material used: transparencies or data-processing support | |
| | | |
| Written notes :
