Atomic and Molecular Spectroscopy

Course contents : Photoabsorption - Oscillator strhgths - Absolute cross sections - Electronic spectroscopy - Photoelectron spectroscopy and related spectroscopies (XPS, X-ray fluorescence). Inelastic diffusion of electrons.
Course objective : Presentation of the spectroscopic methods and of the atomic and molecular physico-chemical parameters taht can be obtained by means of these methods.
Prerequisites : Matter studied during the second and the third year.
Organization : Oral lectures according to a timetable discussed with the students.
Written notes : The students receive a copy of the transparencies used during the lectures. The list of the reference books is given during the first lecture.
Assessment : Oral examination.
