Physical Chemistry: partim: Physcal chemistry of the ionised states of molecules in the gas phase. From the isolated molecule to the cluster.

Course contents : 1st Part: Ionization Processes in the gas phase:
- Direct ionization phenomena. Molecular ion formation (including negative ions).
- Fate of neutral and ionized states. Autoionization and dissociation (including predissociation).
- Nomenclature of molecular electronic states.

2nd Part: Methods and experimental techniques for the investigation of the evolution of ionized states:
- Production, analysis and detection of ions.
- Experimental methods for the investigation of ionization phenomena (electroionization, photoionization and coincidence techniques, TPES, ZEKE, etc...).

3d Part: Ionization processes in atomic and molecular clusters.
- Definition, classification and production techniques of atomic and molecular clusters.
- Ionization processes and evolution mechanisms of ionized atomic and molecular clusters.
Course objective : Extension of known concepts and introduction of new physical chemical concepts applied to the experimental investigation of the ionized state.
Prerequisites : Knowledge of basic Physics and Chemical Physics.
Organization : 15 hours Lecture.
