Course contents : The objective of this course is to provide basic knowledge in plant biology to students coming from differents high schools and joining the university for a degree in Biology or Biochemistry.
Course objective : The introduction is based on the title of the course itself : what is biology ? what is specific to plants ? what does the pluricellular organisation mean and involve ?
The course is then divided in two main parts. The first part describes the plant growth, from the cell to the organism, with basic notions of histology and anatomy. The second part concerns the diversity of the plant kingdom, the description of main groups (morphology, development) and evolutionary aspects.
Prerequisites : no prerequisite

III. Cytology
IV. Histology and anatomy
Organization : 10 lectures of 90 min; 4 half-days for the practicals, first semester
Written notes : Illustrations
Assessment : Oral examination
