| Course contents :
| This course begins with the examination of the genetics of procaryotic and eucaryotic organisms to bring up the natural or artificial (genetic engineering) ways that are used to change their genotype. Then it explains how animal or plant organisms differenciate from an zygote and how their tissues differenciate and function. A large part deals with the physiology of these organisms: nutrition, gaz exchange, internal transport, homeostasis, internal communications and coordinations. The course ends with a description of the place these organisms hold in the environment. | |
| | | |
| Course objective :
| This course is a continuation of the one given during the 1st year (Bac) in Chemistry. It is intended to lead to the understanding of the main principles of the structure, the development and the functioning of living organisms as well as their relationships with the environment. | |
| | | |
| Prerequisites :
| Biology course given during the 1st year (Bac) in Chemistry. | |
| | | |
| Workshops :
| Microscopic examinations of cells and tissues from various origins. Exercises with mendelean genetics. Dissections. | |
| | | |
| Organization :
| Lectures (2h) given during the 2d quadrimester. Weekly practical courses (1/2 day) in the Zoology building. | |
| | | |
| Written notes :
