Course contents : Different chapters on :

- optical materials and the polishing methods

- filters,

- detectors, intensifiers, CCD, photon counting,...

- lasers and applications

- fiber optics.

Visit of factories making optical elements and optical systems.
Course objective : Mainly based on optical metrology and detectors.
Prerequisites : Some knowledge of geometrical optics, diffraction and interferometry.
Workshops : Applied optics on space hardware available at the time of the course, e.g. on space antennas. Use of interferometers, ZYGO and BRO or of the WYKO profilometer.

Ray tracing based on CODE V and/or ASAP software.
