Space Astrophysics Research Programs

Course contents : Several space astrophysics and/or solar system missions are introduced to the students: the latter either individually or in teams of 2 to 3, choose one of them, study it technically and/or scientifically, write a (short) document and present it to the other students as well as to a few scientists interested in the chosen subject.
Course objective : Familiarise the students with an international space environnement in order to prepare them for possible internships during their last year as students in physical engineering.
Prerequisites : Succesful completion of their previous 3 years and a (strong) motivation towards work on their own.
Written notes : The students are given documents, but they are supposed to search on their own as well.
Assessment : The students are asked to write a short essay and to deliver a 20-30 minute presentation in front of their fellow students and some Ulg staff members.
